Hi, I’m Georgie! Childminder, Chef, Supermum!

“I love coming to Georgie’s because of the babies and because I missed her”
– Child, age 5
“Georgie has been looking after E for a few months now and we are extremely happy with her childcare. E has come on leaps and bounds in the time and we have no doubts that Georgie’s care is fundamental to that. She is very inventive and always coming up with clever ideas which are both fun and educational. She does many activities including craft making, baking and going for walks. E really enjoys his time with Georgie and we’d thoroughly recommend her as a childcare provider.” – Parent
“I love my Georgie family” child, age 3
“Thank you for the fun activities and playing with ice” – Child, age 4
“Georgie is amazing! She offers great quality childcare. She has been looking after my son for a few a few months now as he really didn’t settle at nursery. He settled immediately with Georgie and has been happy ever since. Georgie is very kind caring and gentle making my son feel very comfortable with her. She prepares and offers a variety of lovely food and snacks with always sound great. She follows the EYFS in great detail and provides stimulating activities to help my son progress. Georgie always goes out for walks or let my son play outside allowing him to get fresh air. Georgie own children are a shinning example of how good she is with children. I was very worried taking my son out of nursery but it has definitely been the best decision for us and I wouldn’t look back now. I would definitely choose Georgie if you are looking for a childminder.” – Parent
“I love it because my friends are here”
– child, age 6
“Wow! Georgie is so creative.”
– B, age 10
I am an Ofsted registered childcare provider and Early Years Educator with over 14 years experience in providing childcare.
I offer a friendly environment where children can play and learn in a home from home setting. I offer a child led approach to learning with a mixture of free exploring and open ended activities. Planned activities are based around the children’s interests and include many opportunities to learn.

Sessions include a wide variety of activities, including crafts, singing, stories, free play and local walks. Many of the activities I provide are open ended, providing endless opportunities to learn. I use a wide range of natural resources (or “loose parts”) including stones, pinecones, bamboo rings etc. that encourage children to use their imagination and be in control of their own learning.

I encourage children to help with food preparation and other daily tasks to develop their independence and life skills.

I have lived in King’s Cliffe for over 20 years and therefore I know the area very well. The children have so many opportunities to learn from the local environment and I utilise what is around us on a daily basis.

I have had many different jobs in the past including teaching, catering, sous-chef in local pubs and restaurants, barista, graphic design, nannying, events planner and host and a chalet host in the French Alps. I have also ran a variety of small businesses over the years including Cookery Classes for Kids, Georgie’s Chocolates, The Crumbled Biscuit and Bumblebee Resources. I use the experiences and skills I have gained throughout my career in my childcare setting.

I have a thorough knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which I deliver in my setting for all children below school age. I also have experience working in both primary and secondary schools, teaching Food Technology and Home Economics. I particularly enjoy working with children and encouraging them to have fun whilst developing new skills. I am a friendly person and very enthusiastic (especially when it comes to crafts and cooking!)
One year ago, we were given a large outdoor space called Bumblebee Garden to use for learning and play. We have been working hard on this area to make it a nurturing environment for the children. The next project will be a more permanent structure/outdoor classroom to replace the gazebo
